In normal world it's called developer.

Amm. Developing the backend, mostly? It's typing the code and checking Stackowerflow. Not so much to tell for normal people.

Dude who stares in the monitor, typing commands, using logical patterns, also sounds weird, is you describe it like this. But, hey! Guess what? It's called a developer.

So what is the title of your profession?

My profession is a way more complicated and totally new in my country since it's hard to get a good place to work =P
well, I am a linguist studying robotechnics, cognitive science, psychology, and linguistics, of course. So it's a huge amount of multidisciplinary subjects. And I still don't know what kind of Master programm I am about to start...I mean the final qualification. Because there are too many possibilities.
Are you a developer? btw it's crucial nowadays to know not only technical things but also some social sciences - this is the huge plus.

In normal world a programmer is called like 'programmer' and a developer is called like 'developer'. You may be both and you may be either.
