Woman Murders Boyfriend After He Brings Chicken To Cook Instead Of Taking Her Out, WI Police Say

A Wisconsin woman is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend during an argument over dinner plans after he arrived at her apartment with food instead of taking her out, police said.


Mikayla Kloth, 27, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 25-year-old Lukas Rosch, according to a criminal in Waukesha County.

The incident happened Friday night, April 24, at Kloth’s apartment in Lac La Belle. Investigators said the couple had argued after Kloth told Rosch she wanted to go out to dinner. Instead, he arrived with chicken drumsticks and seasoning, intending to cook at the apartment using an air fryer, according to the complaint.

Police said the disagreement escalated into a verbal argument, during which Rosch grabbed a knife by the blade. Kloth then allegedly pushed the knife into his chest, stabbing him through the heart, according to the complaint.

When officers arrived, they found Rosch on the floor with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police asked Kloth if there had been a struggle, and she allegedly responded, “No, I did stab him,” according to the complaint.

Authorities said Kloth made additional statements while being taken into custody, including saying she “should have just gone to the bar” and that the situation was “irritating,” according to the complaint. She also reportedly said Rosch’s parents would now hate her.


Investigators said Kloth told them she had asked Rosch not to come over that night because she wanted to go out. Despite that, he showed up with plans to cook dinner.

A witness who lives in the apartment building told investigators she had spoken with Rosch about a week earlier and said he appeared fearful of Kloth, according to the complaint. The witness said Rosch told her, “Please take my full name, in case something ever happens to me.”

Kloth remains in custody at the Waukesha County Jail on a $2 million cash bond. She is scheduled to return to court on May 29.

Couple Burned Neighbor's Wayward Drone

MAY 3--A married couple is facing felony charges after reportedly admitting to burning a drone in their fire pit after discovering the $1200 item had mistakenly landed on their Florida property, according to court records.

Investigators say that Christopher Paula, 40, was flying a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone (seen below) around 11:30 PM last Saturday when it “lost communication while in flight” over his Port St. Lucie neighborhood.

The drone, Paula told police, was programmed to “automatically return to its home point when connection is lost.” However, instead of flying back to Paula’s residence, the wayward drone touched down in the backyard of a house owned by Sandra Marcelus, 43.

Marcelus, who bought the property in 2016, lives there with her husband Alquidiven Daniels, 49.

Using a GPS tracking feature, Paula determined his drone’s “last known position” was in a nearby backyard, cops reported. Paula said when he knocked on the home’s front door, a woman’s voice came through the Ring doorbell camera and declared, “You don’t have a fucking drone anymore, sir.”

Paula then contacted police, who subsequently spoke with Marcelus about the drone incursion (an annoyance with which many homeowners are familiar).

After reportedly admitting that she and Daniels “burned the drone,” Marcelus said that the couple has “experienced ongoing issues with drones flying over their property.” The flights, she added, prompted her to recently post on the “Ring Neighborhood app” about her concerns about the drones, which “would pause when she noticed them.”

On one recent occasion, Marcelus told police, she was “outside undressed” when a drone flew over her property. A week ago, “upon discovering the foreign object with a camera in their yard, Marcelus stated they burned the drone in the fire pit,” reported police, who say that Daniels confirmed this account.

Due to the drone destruction, Marcelus and Daniels were arrested for criminal mischief. The charge is classified as a felony since the value of the damaged property exceeds $1000.

Marcelus and Daniels (pictured above) were freed from the county jail after each posted a $2500 bond.

Boston bakery pleads for return of giant ice cream cone mascot

The co-owner of a Boston bakery is offering baked goods as a reward for the safe return of the eatery's "mascot," a large plastic ice cream cone named Swirly.

Swirly, a fixture outside of Flour Bakery on the Boston Common, was initially feared to have blown away during the winter, but co-owner Joanne Chang said she now has good reason to believe the mascot is still nearby.

"He was possibly spotted in a nearby dorm window looking down longingly at home and we have reason to believe he may be confused about where he is," Chang wrote on social media.

She said all the bakery wants is Swirly's safe return.

"To anyone who is temporarily sheltering him: thank you for protecting him this winter, please return him safely, no questions asked, in exchange for baked goods and our eternal gratitude," Chang wrote.

Google Maps glitch sends drivers the wrong way on one-way road

Residents of a one-way road in Toronto said a Google Maps error caused a flood of vehicles to drive the wrong way for several days.

Winona Drive residents said they discovered last week that the sudden influx of wrong-way drivers on the southbound street was a result of a Google Maps error that listed the road as northbound-only.

The error was in place as early as April 29.

"They come up here with such gusto," resident JP Timmerman told The Toronto Star of the wrong-way drivers. "The crossing guard seems ready to keel over."

Residents took their concerns to local officials, police and Google itself, but a solution took several days.

Locals posted homemade signs informing drivers that "GPS is wrong," but they failed to stem the tide.

City Councilor Josh Matlow had the city's Transportation Services division contact Google Maps directly with the complaint. The city also installed a temporary "do not enter" sign and barricade at the exit-turned-entrance of the road.

Google said the error had been repaired as of Monday.

"I will be following up with Google Maps to understand what went wrong and what improvements can be made to prevent this situation in the future," Matlow wrote on social media. "These sorts of Google glitches cause real and immediate safety impacts on our streets. Google Maps needs to be far more responsive to residents complaints, and far more transparent about the processes in place."

Wisconsin recycling center posts 17.3 mph speed limit sign

April 29 (UPI) — A new speed limit sign posted outside a recycling center in Wisconsin is drawing attention for its oddly specific number — 17.3 mph.

Outagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste in Appleton announced on social media that the new speed limit at the center is 17.3 mph.
"Why 17.3? Because it makes you pause. It makes you look twice. And most importantly, it breaks that 'autopilot' feeling we can all fall into when driving familiar routes," the post said.

"At Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste, we have haulers, contractors, and residents moving through our site every day. With so much activity, staying alert is key to keeping everyone safe."
Jordan Hiller, program coordinator for the center, told WBAY-TV the sign has caused an unexpected "uproar," but he is happy the reaction is raising awareness of the need for safety at the facility.

Athlete pulls 21,737-pound bus with his neck

A 49-year-old athlete from Aruba earned his 10th Guinness World Records title by pulling a bus a distance of more than 65 feet using his neck.

Egmond Molina used a rope around his neck to pull the 21,737-pound bus on Jan. 9, and Guinness World Records has now confirmed he officially broke the record for the heaviest vehicle pulled by the neck.

The previous record of 17,769.26 pounds was set by Ukrainian Dmytro Hrunskyi in 2024.

"With the rope compressing my airway, I must generate force while carefully controlling my breathing under intense strain. It becomes a psychological battle to remain composed while the body is under severe stress," Molina told Guinness World Records.

The strongman's previous Guinness World Records titles include the fastest 20-meter bus pull with one finger, 33.32 seconds; the fastest 20-meter tram pull with teeth, 39.9 seconds; the fastest hot water bottle burst, 2.87 seconds; and the most crown cap bottles opened with both hands in 30 seconds, 6 bottles.

Molina said his records are dedicated to his children, Nigel, Egmond Junior, Benjamin and Adelinda, as well as the youth of Aruba.

"My records are a tribute to my people and my family's enduring legacy," he said.

Idaho man balances skateboard on his chin for over an hour

An Idaho man with more than 350 Guinness World Records titles added another to his tally by balancing a skateboard on his chin for over an hour.

David Rush, who has previously broken several records involving balancing objects on his chin, said he decided to attempt the skateboard record after learning the category had been created, but not yet set.

"Right away I discovered the obvious problem: a skateboard is a surprisingly pointy object," Rush wrote online. "Even 30 seconds was intensely painful."

Rush said a friend with a large skateboard collection allowed him to borrow one that had a flatter edge, but still met size and weight requirements.

He took on the record during a break from a pickleball session at the YMCA in Boise. Rush managed to balance the board for 1 hour, 1 minute and 36 seconds, enough to take the title.

Karl Arps was demonstrating the signs of a heart attack during a training course when he really had one, and went into cardiac arrest.

Realizing something was amiss, students at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wis., immediately sprung into action during the March 25 demonstration.

The last thing Arps remembers is feeling dizzy and hearing a student say he didn't look right. The next thing he remembers is waking up in an ambulance.

"From what I was told, they did everything like we told them to do in CPR class," the 72-year-old instructor told As It Happens host Nil Köksal.

"Thank you does not seem enough. They saved my life, period."

From scenario to reality

Student Logan Lehrer, a firefighter training as an Emergency Medical Technician, remembers the moment he realized something was off.

Arps's hand had curled outward, his face was contorted and he began snoring. For a second, Lehrer says he thought it might be a joke or a test, but he felt a pit in his stomach.

The students called over another instructor, Traci Blondeau. She tried to "snap him out of it," and soon realized he wasn't acting.

"That's immediately when we started responding to the situation," Lehrer said.

Century plant begins rare bloom outside Mississippi business

Employees at a pet grooming business in Mississippi were shocked when a century plant outside the building suddenly started to bloom several feet tall.

Workers at the Shaggy Chic Pet Salon, which just moved into its Long Beach location in January, said they initially did not think anything was unusual about the plant outside the building.

They only discovered it was a century plant, also known as Agave attenuata or American aloe, when its bloom suddenly started to grow several feet tall.

Century plants take about 8 to 30 years to bloom, and the event, known as a "death bloom," signals the end of its life cycle. The blooms have been known to grow to up to 20 feet tall.
